Rural Proofing for Health Toolkit (Northern Ireland)

Following the successful launch of the England toolkit a further iteration working with the health system in Northern Ireland has been produced, which you can access here

Rural Proofing for Health Toolkit

This toolkit has been created to help organisations working in the health and care sector to address the needs of their local rural populations when they develop or review strategies, initiatives and service delivery plans.  It can also be used by non-statutory organisations who review or monitor health and care service provision. The toolkit has been researched and written by Rural England CIC, with additional input from the Nuffield Trust and from Sonja Rewhorn.  It was a joint commission with the National Centre for Rural Health & Care.

English Indices of Deprivation (University of East Anglia Rural Analysis)

The centre has been working with Professor Andy Jones and Mandy Burke and Professor John Shepherd about their ground breaking research which introduces a more sympathetic rural filter to this data set. Some headline analysis produced by Professor Shepherd in respect of Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Devon is attached here.

Rural Covid Dashboard

In partnership with Nuffield Trust the centre have been working on development of a dashboard which indicates the differentially negative impact of covid on rural health care. This work has been profiled on a recent bbc news article, which can be viewed here
